W Watson Ltd is a Coniston based company working in and around the Lake District, using traditional and modern materials and working methods.

We can supply the complete building service, from the planning stage to completion, on large or small contracts and specialise on projects with difficult access and complicated logistics.

Having contracted to the National Trust and the Lake District National Park Authority, we are used to working on listed buildings and scheduled ancient monuments. Using traditional materials sourced locally and traditional building methods, we can reproduce the old style of building in a modern environment.

This large barn on Corney Fell is being re-roofed to ESA specification, and is one of three being replaced on this site.

This small extension was carried out for a customer at Lowick. Using local stone this modern extension has given a modern bungalow a traditional feel.

This contract was completed under budget and ahead of schedule; this type of new build is the bread and butter trade to our company.

This property located at the end of a rough lane in Ulpha has very difficult access. Working with Chris Hull Construction Ltd, we were able to overcome the access problems to carry out a major refurbishment of this house

We haven’t trained him to carry slates up yet!

We are currently building a new house at low water end for a private client; this property when finished will be a three bed roomed cottage with private access to Coniston Lake.

Also a large country house currently under construction at the east side of Coniston lake, the finishes are being carried out by our company sub contracting to M J Withers, builder from Ambleside, we are now using plasterers stilts to make our plastering operation more efficient.
